hi i am alex

yoga teacher / movement nerd / wellness facilitator

I blend modern, exploratory, anatomy-informed movement with traditional yogic concepts to help you build a wellness toolkit – unique to YOU as an individual. I loathe one-size-fits-all approaches because our lifestyles, backgrounds, bodies, and so much more is truly unique.

Join me on a journey to turn everyday life into moments of wonder, play, and connection through breath, movement, and mindfulness practices.

My story
Photo collage of Alex Canedo doing yoga when she first started

yoga was the first practice that showed me it was ok to do less. As a former athlete and overachiever, pushing myself harder was all i knew.

My journey with yoga began as a curious teenager in San Francisco. After years of chasing achievement and being cruel to my body, I discovered yoga's gift: a pathway to finding sanctuary within the pace and pressures of modern expectations.

I didn’t come from a typical yoga background—no dancer flexibility or gymnast strength here. I struggled with poses for years, learned to modify for my body type, and eventually built a strong, sustainable practice. I fell in love with yoga for how it healed my mind and body, not just for physical gains.

Now, with over 700+ hours of training in various modalities, I weave together anatomy-informed movement, breathwork, and mindfulness, helping busy urbanites discover their rhythm both on and off the mat.

My classes create a welcoming space where strength meets mindfulness, and where each person can explore what they need in the moment—whether that's holding a challenging pose for a few extra breaths or spending time in child's pose.

My mission is to help you discover how movement and mindfulness can create profound shifts in your daily rhythm.
